For those unfamiliar with this type of white wine, it is a great alternative to a Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio. This particular bottle had bright aromas of green apple, pear, starfruit and honeysuckle. On the palate it's crisp, showcasing flavors of lemon, green apple, grapefruit and a light hint of honey.
Food Pairing: The bright acidity helps counter balance a rich dish. I found it went quite nicely with mushroom risotto with spring vegetables.

Did You Know? The wine derives it's name from the town Gavi in the Northwestern part of Italy. It is made from an indigenous grape variety called Cortese and can sometimes be labled on the bottle as Cortese di Gavi.
